About Fintactica
Fintactica is a financial commentary website for the active private investor. It is edited by a seasoned financial journalist and active investor. In the wake of the credit crunch and the poor performance of so many of the so-called professionals in the fund management industry, we felt it was time to take a look at the way you can manage assets across a variety of asset classes without reference to professional advisers.
At the moment all the information on this site will be free, but we expect to be adding a paid-for subscriber service next year, with other facilities including a dedicated Q&A section and access to our internal instrument watch lists. Also look to see new sections launched covering asset classes like commodities, currencies and CFD trading.
The owners of Fintactica are strong believers in the proposition that the financial services industry, particularly private banks and fund managers, are in dire need of a shake up. From our position at the heart of the financial media industry we are able to identify trends within the markets and the asset management industry in general before they hit the mainstream press.
Our business model aims to focus on supporting ourselves via subscriber revenues rather than advertising. Unlike other organisations, we do not want to be beholden to our advertisers, or compromise our coverage because of dependence on advertising revenues.
Our editorial team
The site is primarily edited by two financial journalists with a combined 25 years of experience in financial markets. One is an ex-newswire journalist with experience in equities, commodities and emerging markets (particularly Eastern Europe and the former USSR). The other is a specialist in asset management and private banking, as well as a former co-editor of a leading anti-fraud newsletter who has had experience working for a hedge fund complex, a currency broker, a private equity firm and a financial software developer.
We look forward to bring you an exciting and eclectic mix of investment and markets coverage going forwards. Welcome to the Fintactica experience!
